Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with pastor David Peppler officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Earnest was born Sept. 20 1941, in Sinks Grove, W.Va., to Clarence and Margie (Hooper) Lockhart, and graduated from Wooster High School in 1960. He married Gloria Beichler on June 29, 1963.
Earnest worked at Volvo for 32 years, retiring in 1997, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball and camping. He loved spending time with his family.
He was a member of Demerst Church of God in Georgia.
Earnest will be deeply missed by sons, Rick (Amy) Lockhart of Orrville and Gary (Rachel) Lockhart of Wooster; grandchildren, Cortney, Brandon, Matthew and Katie Lockhart and Mason Steiner; brothers, Dexter (Marina) Lockhart of Georgia; sisters: Kathleen (Wando) Legg and Diana (David) Peppler, both of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Linda Brake of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and a sister, Jean Rae Porter.
