Mrs. Anna Tuma Had Been a Resident of County For Over 72


One of the county's oldest settlers and probably the oldest pioneer resident of Cooperstown is no more, Mrs. Anna Tuma having passed away today at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Morris at Greenstreet.

Mrs. Tuma had passed her 90th birthday and for more than seventy-two years had been a resident of Manitowoc county. Coming to this county with her parents when a girl she had spent her life since then in this section and her residence covered more than the allotted life span of three score and ten. With her husband, who preceded her in death years ago, she made her home on a farm in Cooperstown and was well known.

Ill Only Two Weeks.
Despite her advanced age Mrs. Tuma had enjoyed excellent health up to two weeks ago but since then her decline had been rapid and death came this morning.

She is survived by three children, her daughter Mrs. Morris and two sons, John at Maribel and Wenzel at Larrabee. Many grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at ten o'clock at St. Wenzel church at Greenstreet with burial in the cemetery there. Rev. Rose of Kellnersville will officiate.

In the notice of the death of Mrs. Tuma, Cooperstown pioneer, yesterday in the Herald News, the name of her daughter was given as Mrs. Morris when it should have been Mrs. Marek.

The funeral was held from the home at Greenstreet to St. Wenzel's church this morning.
