Page 6 Crab Orchard
James Welch, aged about 60 years, son of Dr. Thomas Welch, decd., died early Saturday morning at the home of Mrs. Kate McAlister, formerly the Welch home. He had been in feeble health for some time and his death was expected. We hope an all-wise, merciful God has welcomed "Jimmie" into his heavenly home. He was buried at 11 o'clock Sunday morning on Cemetery hill. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Lackey and children, Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Owsley, relatives, and Col. W. G. Welch, a brother, came up from Stanford to attend his burial; also Mrs. Dee Burch and son, William. Services were held by Rev. Gashwilder.
