Died, on the 20th of March at his home in the town of Mineral Point, Mr. James Aid, aged 82 years. Mr. James Aid was born in the County Kilkenny, Ireland, in the year 1823, and came to America in 1848. In 1849 he settled on a farm near Highland, and on April 15, 1859, was married to Miss Mary McCormick. In 1860 he went to California, returning in 1969. He settled on a farm in the town of Mineral Point, where he resided resided up to the time of his death. He leaves a wife and nine sons, Pierre, John, Thomas, Edward, James, William, Richard, Joseph and Frank to mourn his departure. The funeral took place from St. Paul's Catholic Church in this city on Wednesday morning and was one of the largest from this church in many years. Solemn requiem services were held by Rev. Richard Aid, Celebrant, Rev. John Croke of Gratiot, Deacon, and Rev. O'Keein, Sub-Deacon, who delivered a very appropriate and impressive funeral sermon.
