Ted A. Parkinson, age 82 of Elyria, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born April 17, 1922 in Ohiopyle, PA. He had resided in Elyria since 1945 moving from North Carolina.

Mr. Parkinson served in the US Army Infantry during WW II in Northern France and Rhineland. He received the Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European Theater Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, and WW II Victory Medal.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. Elyria, the VFW Post 1079, Elyria and the Louis Paul Proy Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20, Lorain.

Mr. Parkinson enjoyed his pet cat, Sampson Alexander, woodworking and writing peoms.
He worked as a Material Handler for Parker-Hannifin Company Wheel and Brake Division in Avon, retiring in 1971. He previously worked for York International in Elyria for 23 years.

Surviving are 4 Daughters, Cheri Lehrisa Page of Lorain, Debra Ann Gonzalez of Lorain, Peggy Parkinson of Elyria, and Bonnie Shepherd of Elyria; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; Brother, Paul Parkinson of Waverly, Ohio and 2 Sisters, June Majesky of Elyria and Barbara Jane Bitner of Uniontown, PA.

He was preceded in death by son Anthony Parkinson, brother George Parkinson and parents, William and Elsie Parkinson.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, OH.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Monday in the funeral home. Reverend Steve Buckner, Pastor of Cornerstone Community church, Amherst will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
The Elyria VFW Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.
