Pfc. O'Guinn was killed by a grenade. He had been in the Army 13 months, including six months in Viet Nam with the 101st Airborne Division. He received both the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal for Valor.
He was born in Murphysboro Nov. 9, 1946, the son of Norman E. and Delores E. Baker O'Guinn, of 511 North St.
Pfc. O'Guinn was a member of the sons of the American Legion and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He leaves his parents; a brother, Donald of Murphysboro; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur O'Guinn of Murphysboro; and a grandmother, Mrs. Concorda Baker of Murphysboro.
