MILDRED ANDERSON

Mildred Anderson, age 99, formerly of Cato and Menasha, died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at St. Mary's at Felician Village, Manitowoc, where she was a resident for the past three years.

She was born Aug. 9, 1910, daughter of the late John and Theresia (Zipperer) Zipperer. She grew up on their farm in Cato on County Trunk S. She completed eight grades at St. Michael's Catholic School in Whitelaw. Before marriage, she was employed at the Mirro Factory and the Hanson Glove Factory in Manitowoc. Later she was employed in Chicago. When her father died, she came home to help her mother run the farm.

Mildred married Elmer Anderson Sept. 30, 1961, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. Then she took her mother from the farm in Cato to live with them in Menasha and took care of her mother until her death at age 96.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer in 1997; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Elsie (Ivan) Siehr; Ida (Bob) Mersch; and Sister Anna Mary Zipperer, of St. Francis Convent, Milwaukee; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: John (Dorena) Zipperer; Edmund (Elizabeth) Zipperer; Ben (Ann) Zipperer; and an infant brother, Edwin; a nephew, Sylvester Siehr; who died in World War II in Germany in 1945.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw, with Father. David Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Herald Times Reporter, Jan. 29, 2010
