BRIEF ILLNESS IS FATAL FOR WHITELAW MAN
An illness of only a few hours duration yesterday at noon claimed Joseph Basel, a lifetime resident of Manitowoc county who has been living a retired life at Whitelaw. Mr. Basel had not complained o feeling ill until yesterday morning when he retired and a physician was called but death came at 11:30 o'clock.
Born at Whitelaw on February 17, 1865, he lived his entire life in this county.
He married Theresa Meyer who preceded him in death 16 years ago and hisimmediate survivors are six sons, Frank, Chicago, John and Martin, Manitowoc, Joseph and Peter, Milwaukee, and Charles at Whitelaw; one daughter, Mrs. Emilia Yindra, Maribel; a brother, Peter in California and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Grader and Mrs. Francis Ernest, Milwaukee and Mrs. Joseph Holzer, St. Nazianz.
In addition to being a member of the St. Michael's church, he was a member of the Catholic Knights and the St. Stephoses society.
