ALVINA BENZSCHAWEL

Mrs. Alvina M. Benzschawel, 81, a former Francis Creek resident, died Tuesday evening, August 20, at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic church, Francis Creek. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Donald Schneider with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Whitelaw.

Mrs. Benzschawel, nee Alvina Stransky, was born September 20, 1903 in the Town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pech Stransky. She married Paul Benzschawel on June 7, 1927 at St. Anne Catholic church, Francis Creek. The couple was in business for many years in Reedsville. He preceded her in death May 4, 1956. Several years after the death of her husband, Mrs. Benzschawel retired and settled in Francis Creek until moving to a nursing home in Manitowoc. Mrs. Benzschawel was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek.

Survivors include a brother and a sister-in-law, Emil and Viola Stransky of Francis Creek and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Julia Peltier of Mishicot and Anna and John Jansky of Manitowoc; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday evening and Friday until the hour of service. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening led by Father Schneider.
