Marian A. Braun, age 90, formerly of Whitelaw, died Monday, May 24, 2004 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. James Jugenheimer will officiate with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Marian was born Aug. 21, 1913 in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Oswald Nesper. On April 25, 1939, she married Frank F. Braun at St. Anne Catholic Church, at Francis Creek. Frank preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1991. They celebrated 52 years together. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the Branch-Whitelaw Senior Citizens. Marian enjoyed her family, cherishing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing cards and dancing polkas.
Survivors include her four sons: Richard (Joyce), St. Nazianz; Ken (Marie), Roger (Linda), all of Manitowoc; Bob (Maggie), Whitelaw; two daughters: Judy (Jim Zlatohlavek; Pat (Burl) Cavanaugh, all of Manitowoc; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a sister: Lillian Wallander, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Agnes Nesper and Eleanor Swetlik, both of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frank, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Gertrude Nemetz, Christine Karl and Laura Pritzl; one brother: Raymond Nesper; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Anton Nemetz, Fred Karl, Othmar Pritzl and Lawrence Wallander; Clara and Hank Schuh, Margaret and Art Zeman, Vernie and Art Zimmer, John and Anna Braun, Edward and Catherine Braun, Blanche and Elmer Neuser, Tillie and Paul Pakenham, Joe and Sophie Braun and Quiren Swetlik.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw, and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to the time of service at 10:30 a.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, led by the Rev. James Jugenheimer.
