John Joseph Baker, Pleasant Hill community, died last Wednesday after an illness of two years.

The son of the late Silas and Susanna Dobbs Baker, he was born October 28, 1870 at Slavans, Kentucky. He was married to Mattie Corder February 20, 1896 at Slavans.

Mr. Baker had lived in Pulaski County for the past 57 years. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Emma Denney-Clinton; two sons, (Thomas) Edison Baker, Route 1, Somerset, and (James) Raymond Baker, West Palm Beach, Florida, two nephews, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with the Rev. Davis H. King officiating. Burial was in the Somerset Cemetery.
