Mrs. Katie Russell, 84, daughter of the late Mr. Oscar Forrest Sidebottom and Mrs. Florence Page Sidebottom, was born February 23, 1889, in Green County and departed this life at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 1974, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Taylor County at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. Ira C. Russell February 18, 1906, and he preceded her in death May 6, 1956. To this union were born three daughters: Mrs. Jessie Clark, Greensburg, Mrs. Beatrice Burger and Mrs. Frances Humphrey, both of Louisville. Other survivors are six grandchildren: Mrs. Jan Neal, Elizabethtown, Mrs. Betty Montgomery, Maysville, Mrs. Sue Allen, Mrs. Lanny Buster, Mrs. Terri Miller and Johnny Humphrey, all of Louisville; thirteen great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Raymond Sidebottom, Greensburg; two half-sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hays, Campbellsville, and Mrs. Hallie Mueller, St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., (CDT) Saturday, January 12, with Rev. A. Thomas Forrester, Rev. Cecil Irwin, Sr., and Rev. George Bowling officiating. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ray Allen, Ricky Miller, Doug Neal, Billy Montgomery, James Douglas Sidebottom, and Ed Rogers.
