Addison Wayne Brant Jr., 65, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his home. Wayne was born June 11, 1947, in Maysville, Ky., the son of the late Martha C. (Lobaugh) and Addison W. Brant Sr. Wayne was a graduate of Freeport High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in communications with emphasis in Russian linguistic

After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Based on his Russian linguistics skills and expertise, Wayne was selected for a high security clearance, special assignment with the U.S. Army Security Agency. He served with honors in Germany, during the "Cold War" at the U.S. Army Field Station-Berlin as a E-5/SP5 Russian linguist."

Wayne was employed as a plant supervisor at Pennex Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Verona for 29 years. Wayne also worked a number of years for the White Star Fraternal Society in Buffalo Township. He loved to play golf and enjoyed shooting pool and doing puzzles. Wayne is survived by his ex-wife, Bernice (Huff) Brant; his son, Addison Wayne Brant III, of Natrona Heights; his stepdaughter, Tracy Zinn, of Tarentum; and his four grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Susan Brant, of Carnegie and Mary Lee (Thomas) Nevitt, of Augusta, Ga.; and his two brothers, Robert W. Brant, of South Buffalo Township, and Donald W. Brant, of Mogadore, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Brant, and his two stepsons, Dale and Clyde Zinn. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1st, 2013, with the Rev. James F. Neal officiating. Burial will be held in the Freeport Cemetery, Freeport .
