Mrs. Elizabeth Helen Johnson

LA MARQUE-Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Helen Johnson, 77, of 1823 Thompson St., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church, the Rev. Z. Phillips officiating. A wake will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at Fields Funeral Home in Galveston.

Burial will follow the services Wednesday at the Rising Star Cemetery under the direction of Fields Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson, born June 22,1900 in Willis, Tex., died 12:50 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Johnson, a retired laboratory assistant, was a member of the Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Queen of Sheba Chapter no. 195 and of the Progressive Order of Pilgrims Sanctuary no. 166.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Irma Gigions of La Marque; two sons, Oscar Johnson of Oakland, Calif, and Henry Johnson of Berkeley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Visitors may call at Fields Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be members of the Greater La Marque Lodge no. 117 A.F. &A.M.
