Early Life: Earl was born on July 9, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Albert Ridd and Eliza Jane Standbridge Hall. He was an Eagle Scout and attended the University of Utah.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Earl served during World War II as a Lieutenant Naval Aviator. He married his sweetheart, Mary Lou Peterson, on August 27, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He came to Palm Springs in 1947 to open Palm Springs Florist where he continued to serve the community until the time of his passing. Earl had a proclamation from Mayor Kleindienst naming March 1, 1997 "The E. Earl Hall Day" commemorating 50 years in business in Palm Springs. Earl loved the Church and served in many callings, including: bishop of the Palm Springs Ward and stake patriarch of the Palm Springs Stake. He loved to work and serve others, and his favorite saying was "count your blessings." Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Elwin "Earl" Hall, of Palm Springs, California, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 8, 2009, of natural causes at home, while surrounded by his family. He was 87.
Survived By: His wife of 62 years, Mary Lou; three children: Stephen Earl (Julie) Hall, of Folsom, CA; Brent (Dru) Hall, of Palm Springs, CA; and Susan (Randy) Hoyt, of Lindon, UT; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Bert Hall; sister, Lucille Cook.
Preceded In Death By: His son, Kent Hall; his parents; and sister, Virginia Fitzpatrick.
