At the age of 23 Charles Mount married Mary Jane Wilbur of Jackson, NJ. They had two daughters, Emily Mount born in 1872 and Eugenia Mount in 1874. The couple separated before 1880, when, sadly, both daughters passed away in Jackson, NJ.
In the early 1880s Charles Mount married Lavinia Hankinson, baptized a twin and at the time living in Upper Freehold, NJ. The Mounts lived for a number of years on the Mount family farm in Clarksburg, where the first five children were born. Two more daughters arrived after a move to Florence, New Jersey. The family then settled in Bristol, Pennsylvania, around 1900, where Charles died at the age of 56.
In Memoriam
We loved him, yes, we loved him,
But angels loved him more,
And they have sweetly called him
To yonder shining shore,
The Golden Gates were opened,
A gentle voice said come,
And with farewell spoken
He calmly entered home.
