PEOPLE MOURN AT FUNERAL OF HARRY A. SECOR

Hundreds Pay Respects at Last Rites Thursday Afternoon - Officials Present --

A procession of more than 25 automobiles followed the cortege to Greenville Church burying grounds on Central Avenue. ... Many floral tributes were received from organizations in Dobbs Ferry and Ardaley. ... Village officials were present at the funeral... Mr. Secor died in the hospital Tuesday morning just before 9 o'clock. less than two hours after the accident, which occurred as he was delivering ice to a residence. His truck was hit by another truck. ...

When the news of his death spread throughout the village, the flag at town hall was placed at half mast. Mr. Secor was a native of Dobbs Ferry, being born here Dec. 15, 1873 on the old Secor homestead which is now the Jubring estate.

He grew up with the village. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Secor, who survive him he was early employed in the ice business which was the family business started in 1870, and eventually he took control of it. At the time of his death he was operating four trucks.

In 1912 he was elected trustee of the village, ... in 1920 he was elected President of the village. He is survived by his wife, one daughter Edith, and three sons. Thomas of Averill Park, Thornton of Dobbs Ferry, and Russell of Ardeley. Also surviving, one brother Arthur of Hawleysville, Conn., and three sisters, Mrs Edgar Eley of Yonkers; Mrs Mabel Frank of Ashford Ave. and Mrs. Ethel Ledwick.
