Our Heavenly Father wrapped his arms around Tressie Faye Barker age 91, of Scottsdale, Arizona, on April 15, 2011, with her loved ones by her side at her Scottsdale home.

Tressie was born in Cabot, Arkansas, along with her twin sister Bessie, on September 17, 1919 to Jessie and Ivy Brown. She had fond memories of growing up on the family farm with her other siblings, and doing her share of the work. After graduating Midway High School, Tressie pursued her career as a secretary. In 1941 she married Captain Clyde Ford Curry who was stationed at Camp Robinson. Unfortunately, while serving overseas her husband was killed in Luzon and was never to see their 21 mo. old son, Jerry. In 1947 Tress married Marvin Barker, who had the title of (CW4). They lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and a son was born, William Kent Barker in 1949. Tressie and Marvin continued to move where the military sent them until retirement. Hawaii and Alaska were among their favorite homes. After Marvin passed away in 1987, Tressie made her home in Scottsdale, Arizona. She loved enjoying family members and attending the Scottsdale Presbyterian Church. Tressie will always be remembered most, for being a loving mother and expressing her gratitude to the people who cared for her in later years, including Hospice of the Valley.
