James Solon Bright was born in Tomato Arkansas, January 18, 1919 to George Edgar and Rosa Lee Halfacre Bright.

He married Wilma L. Wood on August 12, 1951 in Reedsport Oregon.

James enlisted into the US Army, on May 9, 1938. He served in Panama until his discharge in July 1940. He was drafted into US Army on June 15, 1943. He served in the Southern Philippines as a mobile Artilleryman until January 16, 1946.

James passed away at the age of 93, April 25, 2012 in Linn County Oregon.
