DEER CREEK - Mrs. Jennie Collins dies at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leslie Warman, Deer Creek.
A resident of Shelbina, Mo., she had been staying with her daughter for three weeks. She had been in failing health for four months.
She was born Feb 11 [sic], 1876 in Hayworth [sic], a daughter of William and Catherine Hawkins Denman. She was married to Clark M. [sic] Collins who died Aug. 24, 1946.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Dale) Warman, Deer Creek; Mrs. Willis (Pearl) See, Peoria; and Mrs. Elbert (Ruth) Reynolds, Clarence, Mo.; two sons, Fred W. Collins, Macomb; and Chester Collins, Leonard, Mo.; two brothers, Edward Denman, Coney, Kans.; and Carl Denman, Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Ms. Homer (Nannie) Linhorst, Algona, Ohio; and Mrs. Mary Towns, Bloomington; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A daughter, a son, a sister and a brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Collins was a member of the Methodist church of Shelbina.
Her body was taken to the Barkelew-Davis Funeral home in Shelbina, where funeral rites will be conducted.
Local arrangements were in charge of Ludwig Mortuary.
