Funeral services for Josephine W. Wallace were conducted Tuesday, June 17, at the Vase Funeral Chapel. Bishop Steven E. Paulsen of the LDS Church officiated the services.

Graveside services and interment took place June 17 at the Ogden City Cemetery in Ogden.

Mrs. Wallace, 89, of 218 R Street, Rock Springs, died at 1:35 a.m. Friday, June 13 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where she had been a patient for the past four days.

She was born in Ogden, Utah on Aug. 30, 1896, the daughter of the late Joseph Bates and Olive Ann Browning Wallace.

She graduated from high school in Ogden and was married to John Wier “Jack” Wallace in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Oct. 20, 1915. She was a Rock Springs resident since 1932.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Olive Ann) Freeman of Rock Springs and Mrs. Robert L. (Patricia) Wangsgard of Ogden; one son, John William “Bill” Wallace of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Green of Pocatello, Idaho; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, seven sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
