Shirley A. DeWitt, 75, Logansport, died at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 7, 1936, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Donald R. Hamilton and Goldie Porter. She was married June 3, 1956, in Logansport, to Darrell K. DeWitt, who preceded her in death Sept. 24, 2011.

Shirley retired from the Caston Junior-Senior High School cafeteria after many years of service.

A graduate of Logansport High School, she was a member of First United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are son, Randy DeWitt and wife, Vickie, Logansport; daughters, Tammy Allison and husband, Herb, and Shelly Heath and husband, Rick, all of Logansport, and Lisa Cooler and husband, Smittie, South Carolina; grandchildren, April Zartman and husband, Sean, and Heather Harrison and husband, James, all of Logansport, Jeremy Lewis and wife, Carla, Noblesville, Crystal Craig and husband, James, Galveston, Kayla Allison, Fayetteville, Ark., Alisha Allison, Indianapolis, Dustin Heath and wife, Julie, Amboy, Ashley Weathers, Lafayette, Wesley and Alex Cooler, South Carolina; 12 great-granddaughters; and brothers, Don Hamilton and wife, Nancy, Lake Cicott, Jerry Ehler and wife, Sandy, Twelve Mile,

and John Ehler and wife, Pat, Logansport.

Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Fager officiating.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.
