Mrs. Thedius E. Barnard DeLoach Clough, age 94, of Blackshear, passed away early Friday afternoon (6/19/20) at the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia, Georgia following an extended illness.

Born December 15, 1925 in Pierce County, she was a daughter of the late James P. Barnard, Sr. and Miriam Dixon Barnard. She lived most of her life in Pierce County before moving to Vidalia in 2018. She had worked as a teller at The Patterson Bank, was part of The Ladies Auxiliary at the Pierce County Hospital, and was affiliated with the former Dixon-Bowen-Taylor Funeral Home.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear and attended the Alathean/Alert Sunday School Class. She enjoyed picking and preserving foods and cooking which she generously shared with her friends. Above this, she loved her family and was especially proud of each of them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dorris E. DeLoach, Sr. and Claude G. Clough; two sons, Dwight DeLoach and Dr. Randy DeLoach; and a brother, J.B. Barnard, Sr.; a sister-in-law, Martha Claire “Tiny” Barnard; and a brother-in-law, Lewis Stanfield.

Survivors include her sons, Edward DeLoach of Patterson, Travis (Elaine) DeLoach of Vidalia, and David (Dr. Terri) DeLoach of Blackshear; a daughter-in-law, Marie Bowen DeLoach of Blackshear; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Latrelle Stanfield of Patterson; a brother, J.P. Barnard, Sr. of Patterson; a sister-in-law, Sheila Barnard of Brunswick; two step-daughters, Janet (Billy) Taylor and Ruth Callahan, both of Blackshear; special friend, Linnie Daniels of Patterson; and several nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Private graveside services will be held on Sunday afternoon (6/21/20) at Patterson Cemetery with Dr. Bill Young officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brett DeLoach, Trey DeLoach, Dylan DeLoach, Chris Young, Brian Smith, and Justin Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Home of Vidalia, P.O. Box 668, Vidalia, GA 30475 or to the church/charity of your choice.
