Tommie Lee Sprinkles

Tommie Lee Sprinkles, 85, of Nicholson died Monday at his residence.

Born in Macon County, N.C., to the late Fannie Shook Sprinkles and Arthur Sprinkles, he was retired from the University of Georgia.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, Edward Sprinkles and Leon Sprinkles.

Survivors include his wife, Myrl Eller Sprinkles, Nicholson; sons, Roger Sprinkles, Nicholson, and Al Sprinkles, Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Robert Sprinkles, Hiawassee; sister, Louise Chastain, Gay; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at New Hope Baptist Church.

The Rev. Mike Stowers will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens.
