Nicholas Carew, Esquire, of Beddington, Bandon, Carshalton, Maytham and Norbury, Surrey, of Studham, Hertfordshire. Sheriff of Surrey.

Son and heir to Nicholas Care and Isabel Delamare, daughter of Stephen.

Husband of Margaret de Fiennes, daughter of Sir Roger de Fiennes and Elizabeth de Holand. They had two sons and three daughters; Nicholas Esq., and James, Esq., Rose, Margaret and Emelin. Sir Richard Carew was their grandson, the son of James.

In 1435, Nicholas leased the manors of Studham to Sir John Holand and others for three years. In 1450, Nicholas and Margaret obtained a papal indult for a portable altar.

Nicholas left a will dated 14 Nov 1457, proved 10 May 1458. He and his wife were buried at the Chapel of St Nichols in St Mary's, Beddington.
