Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in St Augustine Cemetery, Reif Mills.
Mr. Shimek was born June 23, 1884, Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Louis And Appoline Benishek Shimek. He was married to Blanche Jana Sept. 16, 1913, at Manitowoc, and she died February, 1919. He married Rose Brey Koeppel Jan. 29, 1923, and the couple lived in the city, farmed at Rockwood and returned to the city in 1959. He was a farmer- cheesemaker and was a grader patrolman for the Manitowoc County Highway Dept. from 1936-54. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Boniface and the Manitowoc County Highway Dept. Credit Union.
Survivors are three sons, Hugo A. Jr., of Rt. 2, Two Rivers and Edward and Lester of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Dorothy) Blimel of Manitowoc; a stepson, Roman Koeppel of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Klein of Two Rivers and Mrs. Ben (Mary Ann) Lodel of Manitowoc; a brother, Leo of Marinette; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Kaderabek of Rt. 2, Manitowoc and Mrs. Luella Larson of Manitowoc; 25 grandchildren and six great grand-children. Three sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
