Birth Date Note: On two passport applications (1896, 1897), "Bettie T. Keim" gave her date of birth as Jan 1, 1840. This makes the obituary headline incorrect as it states that she died in her 85th year.

Bettie was born Elizabeth Cocke Trezevant, the only daughter of Dr. Lewis Cruger Trezevant and Elizabeth Marion Cocke.

"Elizabeth C. Trezevant and George Keim" were married on April 24th 1856 in Shelby County, Tennesee.

George and Bettie had two daughters, Julia Mayer Keim (1860-1918) and Susan Douglass Keim (1867-1934), a.k.a Mrs. William Lyttleton Savage and Mrs. Thomas Lynch Montgomery.
