Alex Pokorski, 58, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Leschke-Bergner Funeral
Home, Manitowoc, and at 8 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the
Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Casimir
Cemetery, Northeim, Manitowoc County.
Mr. Pokorski was born Dec. 29, 1902, at Newton, son of the late Matthew
and Mary Sypniewski Pokorski. He married Theresa Tomcheck June 23, 1926,
at Newton and they resided at Rt. 1, Manitowoc. He had been an auxiliary
operator of an oiler 33 years for Wisconsin Public Service Corp.
Survivors include his wife; a son, (private); a daughter, (private); three
brothers, Stanley and Anton of Manitowoc and Frank of Newton; three sisters,
Mrs. Anton Poklinkowski, Mrs. Louis Bonk and Mrs. James Burish of Manitowoc,
and one grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday, where the Rosary
will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by members of the parish.
