Corky was married about 1948 to Mary Frances Mallory (1934–1998), the daughter of Charles Bradford Mallory (1896–1963) and Gladys Loraine (Angus) Mallory (1898–1977).

Living in Smyrna, Rutherford County, Tennessee, he was 83 years old when he died March 3, 2013.

Preceded in death by his wife, he was survived by three daughters, two sons, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, with grandsons serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are made up of Hickory Falls Staff.
