GERARD ROHDE

Gerard Rohde, 52, of Rt. 1, Newton, died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
11 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The Rev. J. L. Bestler
will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rohde was born Aug. 9, 1923, at Manitowoc, son of Ed Rohde and the late
Anna Siewert Rohde.
Due to an accidental shooting in 1938, Mr. Rohde was paralyzed from the waist
down and confined to a wheel chair. He was a junior at Lincoln High School,
Manitowoc, at the time, but was able to complete high school at home and
became a professional artist, receiving his degree in art from the University
of Wisconsin. He did the art work for the Masquers.
Survivors include his father, Ed, of Rt. 1, Newton, and two sisters, Mrs.
Francis J. Andrews, of LaMesa, Calif., and Miss Felicia Rohde, of Rt. 1, Newton.
A brother, Ralph, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, where a
memorial service will be at 7 p.m.
