Arleen V. Borchardt, age 84, died Monday morning, September 11, 1995, at Wildwood Estates, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 1995, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
Arleen was born February 20, 1911, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Olof and Mary (Burdick) Erickson. She grew up and was educated in Green Bay, attending Green Bay West High School. While living in Green Bay she worked for Fort Howard Paper Company.
She moved to Manitowoc after her marriage to Richard A. Borchardt July 30, 1932, in Green Bay. He preceded her in death March 10, 1994.
While living in Manitowoc she worked for Lakeside Canning Company and the Manitowoc Savings Bank. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, and the Ladies Aide Society. She was also a member of Manitowoc Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald and Susan Borchardt, Fountain Valley, Calif., Gerald Borchardt, Aurora, Ill.; five grandchildren, Amy Harrell, Tim Borchardt, Ellen Borchardt, Matt Borchardt and Mark Borchardt; five great-grandchildren, one sister, Marion Hussin (findagrave record #43188524), Green Bay. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Vieu.
Memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
Relatives and friends may call at Reinbold-Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
