Gordon R. Brehmer, age 55, of Collins, died Wednesday morning, June 11, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel. Pastor Wayne K. Huebner will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. He was born March 5, 1942, at Green Bay, son of the late Emil and Leona Piepenburg Brehmer. He attended Trinity Luthran School in the town of Rantoul and Brillion High School. Gordon was previously employed with the Collins Foundry for 27 years and the past five years by the Journal Sentinel as a rural delivery person. He married Darlene Rabe on January 4, 1964, at Kiel. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; one son, Dean, New Holstein; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sue and Andy Evenson, Collins, Judy Wilson, Neenah; three grandchildren, Josh and Jordan Arndt, Dylan Evenson; his mother-in-law, Norma Rabe, Kiel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Diane Rabe, Collins, Ken and Pat Groh, rural Elkhart Lake, Jerry and Debbie Schuh, rural Reedsville, Bruce and Peggy Modrow, Lake Geneva, Ruby Brehmer, Brillion, LeRoy and Irlene Brehmer, Appleton; one special cousin, Don and Ceil Brehmer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Dennis Rabe; his father-in-law, Clarence Rabe; one grandson, Mitchell Seth.
