In the 1921 census she is a widow 58 years old and living in Toronto with her sister, single Kathleen Darrach. Address 534 Crawford St. Both are listed as salesladies, her in clothing and her sister in millinery.
In 1911 she is living with her father John Darrach and she is a widow. Sister Kate is also there. Immigration date listed as 1863 and her father was born in Scotland, April, 1833. he was 79 yrs. Census was taken in Stouffville. Her father's trade was a woodworker.

Mrs. Adiar was a graduate of Prof. De LaMorton's Scientific Garment Cutting Academy and Gent's Tailoring School, toronto in 1891 . she soon open a millinery store on Main St. stouffville with her sister Miss Kate Darrach. They both made many visits on weekends to friends like Mr. F.L. Button.
