John W. Weaver was the son of William Wesley Weaver and Dorothy Jeanette Heath. He was born in Danville, Ill., but by 1923 he and his parents had moved to Springfield, Ill. During his high school years he attended Missouri Military Acadamy in Mexico, MO. On May 29, 1940 he married Mary Ellen Baughn who was attending MacMurry College in Jacksonville, Ill. They eloped and married in Bowling Green, MO.
They settled down in Springfield, Ill. to raise a family and so John could work for his father's business Yelton/Weaver Plumbing Supply. John enlisted in the army during WWII and was shipped overseas. Today he is registered at the WWII monument in Washington, DC.

He and Mary had two daughters Linda and Janet. In Jan. 1961 they divorced, and John remarried to Betty Jane Brown in Feb. 1961, and moved to Hot Springs, Ark. They had three children Tena (b. Sept. 25, 1960 Ark), John Jr. (b. Apr. 17, 1962 Springfield, Ill), and Lisa Jean (b. Oct. 27, 1963 Springfield, Ill). The family moved back to Ark. for a time and on to the Houston, TX. area where Betty passed away of breast cancer or carcinoma of esophagus and John passed away many years later. His second family still lives in Texas today. Lisa was the only child of John's to have children. Lisa married James F. Goodson and they had a daughter Natasha A. born July 13, 1983 in TX and a son James Andrew born May 30, 1985. Natasha married Steven R. Schappell May 12, 2012. Natasha had a son Ethan who carries Steven's last name. By 2016 Steven and Natasha were divorced. Andrew married Hailey L. Dickey and they had two sons. One son was Mayson and the other Beckett.

The Betty Jane Brown that I have added as the second wife may not be correct, but she fits into what I knew about Betty Weaver. Her parents lived in Ark. when I met them, my father married her in the early 1960's (I found a 1961 marriage record in TX), and Betty was definitely born in the south and somewhat younger then my father. Betty also had breast cancer in the 1970's. This Betty was sent back to Little Rock, Ark. for burial after her death and was buried with her parents and a sister.

John's obit:
John Bill Weaver, age 79, passed from this life Nov. 3, 2001. Survivors include John William Weaver II, Tena Weaver-O'Hara, and Lisa Jean Goodson; Grandchildren Natasha Ann Goodson and James Andrew Goodson. A memorial service will be from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday Dec. 9, 2001 at the Bay Oaks Country Club. Puente and Sons Funeral Chapel San Antonio TX.
