Mrs. Ray G. (Louella) Brown, 62, of 515 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening, March 23, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers, with entombment in Knollwood Mausoleum.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 20, 1922, at Moss Point, Miss., daughter of the late William E. and Wille-Myrtle Parker Steede. She grew up and was educated at Lucedale and graduated from the Basin High School in 1940. Mrs. Brown was a 30 year employee of S.S. Kresge Company, retiring Jan. 1, 1962.
She was married to Ray G. Brown, June 21, 1945, at Gulfport, Mississippi.
Mrs. Brown was a member of United Methodist Church for the past 35 years. She was associated with friends and social groups with the S.S. Kresge Company.
Survivors include her husband, Ray G., two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sheldon E. and Voncile Steede of Lucedale, Miss., and W. Nolan and Kathy Steede of Foley, Ala.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wille Nel and Leonard Lanier of Lucedale, Miss., and Mabel C. Beasley of Gulfport, Miss.; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Verna Brown; three members, seven nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church Wednesday from noon until the hour of service.
