Elizabeth H. MillerElizabeth H. MillerElizabeth "Betty" Miller, age 95, formerly of Naples, FL and Wilmington, DE, died Wednesday evening July 24, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born October 7, 1917 in Wilmington, Delaware, daughter of Thomas and Sarah (McIntyre) Harvey. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for the past 5 years. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Goldey Business College and worked as a secretary for Hercules Powder Company before her marriage. On January 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Albert E. Miller. They enjoyed almost 59 years together before his death in October 2002. Together they lived in 6 different states and were active members of several churches, most recently Mayflower Congregational U.C.C. in Naples. They traveled extensively, visiting 49 states and several foreign countries. While growing up and also as an adult Betty enjoyed participating in the Girl Scouts as well as many church activities. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Harvey, and sister, Charlotte Pond, and their spouses. She is survived by 4 children, Carol (John) Hnath, Mattawan; Richard (Rowe) Miller of Wilmington, DE; Nancy (Robert) Sevick of Lawrenceville, GA; and Jean (Scott) Millar of Wilmington, DE; 10 grandchildren, Eric (Miriam), David (Katrina), Laura, Amy (Sidney), Ronald (Natalya), Roy (Josephine), Christian, Kurt, Sarah and Rebecca; 7 great grandchildren, Joseph, Giovanna, Isaiah, Jacob, Magdalene, Elizabeth and Gavin; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, Wilmington, DE on Monday, August 5th at 11:00AM. A visitation will begin at 10:00AM. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Betty to the American Heart Association , 200 Continental Dr. #101, Newark, DE 19713 or Rose Arbor Hospice, Hospice Care of S.W.
