Zola Hurt Delp

Zola Delp, 88, of Route 3, Casey, died Monday, October 24, 1994 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana.
She was born January 21, 1906 in Cumberland County, Illinois to Elmer Charles ‘Tell" Hurt and Pearl Wood Hurt. She married Forrest E. Delp August 10, 1920. He died January 4, 1983.
Funeral Services were held at Markwell Funeral Home with burial in Casey Cumberland Cemetery.
She was formerly employed at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory and managed one of her Mother's nursing homes for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church.
She liked to work in her garden and canned many quarts of vegetables & fruits. She enjoyed cooking for a large group and liked having company.
Her last 17 years were spent in a wheelchair due to arthritic knees. She was able to live alone and was very happy she didn't have to give that up.
Surviving are; son Tony (Laura) Delp; daughters; Loistel (David) Summerville and Sandra (Jim) Stumborg; brother Phillip Hurt; sisters; Doris (Harold) Sweet and Janice Wallace;11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62½ years, one daughter Bettie Van De Wiele and one brother Earl Hurt.
