Betty was a very beautiful & strong woman in mind, body & spirit. She was a daughter of Donald Sr. & Mary Snell Gordinier. She married Charles Lansing Vincent on April 23, 1933. Their two oldest sons were born in Jefferson Co., New York . About 1945 they moved first to Portland , Oregon where their daughter Orissa was born then to Alaska with their three children living in Achorage until the children were grown & then in Arizona where Charles died. Betty then moved back to Alaska near her children.
They had 5 children:
David B:1934-2000
Peter B 1936-2003
Orissa (Risa) B:1944
Lynn B:1948
Stephen B:1955 - 1955

At the time she passed Betty was living in the Hertage Place Nursing Home ; 232 W. Rockwell Ave.;Room 116, Soldatna, Alaska 99669.

Longtime Soldotna resident, Mrs. Elizabeth Gordinier-Vincent, 98, died Monday, March 5, 2013 at Heritage Place in Soldotna, Alaska.

Memorial services will be held 12:45 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013 at New Life Assembly of God Church, 209 Princess Ave. in Kenai. Pastor Stephen Brown will officiate.

Mrs. Vincent was born February 14, 1915 in Toad Hollow, Upper State New York. She graduated High School in New York and furthered her education by receiving a degree from a Cosmetology Trade School. In 1946 Betty moved to Alaska living in Anchorage. She also lived in Fairbanks, Kenai and finally Soldotna. Betty owned her own Beauty Shop and was a beautician for 27 years in Anchorage. She then became manager of a Sears and Robuck store in Anchorage. Betty later moved to Fairbanks where she managed a Sears store as well. She was an avid member of the Kenai New Life Assembly of God in Kenai.

The family wrote, "Elizabeth was loved by many people. When you met her for the first time, the first thing you would notice about her was her smile. When you got to know her better, you would understand that she was a remarkable woman and the smile came from the joy she felt in her life. She was a beloved mother to five children including, David Lansing Vincent, Peter Charles Vincent, Rise L. Vincent, and Lynn Allen Vincent. Elizabeth lost a baby boy at 21 days; his name was Stephen Michael Vincent. She was married to Charles Lansing Vincent whom she met in Toad Hollow, New York and was married to him until his death in 1979 after 48 years of marriage."

She was preceded in death by all members of her original family including her parents and all but two of her surviving children.

She is survived by her daughter, Risa L. Vincent-Creech of Anchorage, Alaska and son, Lynn Allan Vincent of Soldotna, Alaska.
