CLARINE A. DAYTON

Clarine A. Dayton, 89, a resident of the St. Mary’s Home in Manitowoc and former Valders and area resident, died on Sept. 27 at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Friday at the First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The Rev. Stephen Olson will officiate. Cremation will have been taken place and entombment of the cremains will be at the Knollwood Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth.

Mrs. Dayton was born on Feb. 11, 1909 at quarry . to the late George and Emma Snortum Thompson. She attended public school in Valders. She lived and worked in Chicago are, moving back to Valders in 1943.

She married William C. Dayton in Valders on Feb. 26 1947 and the couple lived in Valders, where Mr. Dayton taught in the high school. In 1961, she and her husband moved to Mequon. During that time they owned and operated Twin Pine resort in Conover. In 1990 they moved to Felician Villiage in Manitowoc. After retirement they spent their winter months in Gulf Port Mississippi. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, W. David Dayton of Kewauskum and George and Andy Dayton of Lake Wood Yolo; three daughters, and sons -in-law, Barbara and Jon Rex of Manitowoc, Karen and Tom Hood of La Crosse and Babarba Jo and Ken Mrozinski of Ventura, Calif: 14 grandchildren and six great-grand children.
Also surviving are one brother and sister-in law, George and Mary Thompson of Crandon; two sisters, Selma Reichert of North Bend and Florence Pleuss of Manitowoc; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded on death by her husband and three brothers.

Friends may call at First Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:30 am until the tim of service at 11am.
