NORBERT N. DONDLINGER

Norbert N. Dondlinger, age 81, of River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 928 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Norbert was born on July 26, 1926, in Quarry. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna Schoo Dondlinger. Norbert was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1944. He then entered the U.S. Army and served his country from Sept. 4, 1950, until being honorably discharged on Oct. 12, 1951. Norbert was employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad until he retired in 1986. On April 20, 1954, he married Theown Illig in Sheboygan. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. Norbert had been a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul Society. He enjoyed playing cards and cooking.

He was preceded in death by one daughter: Anne Marie Dondlinger; one stepson: Dale Rodewald; and three brothers: Frank [Find A Grave Memorial# 106342643], John and Hillary "Bill" Dondlinger.

Private memorial services for the family will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Knollwood Mausoleum. Officiating will be the Rev. Steven Solberg, with burial of his cremains to take place at Knollwood Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto Oas Post 659.

Memorials would be appreciated to First Lutheran Church or the donor's choice. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
