Mrs. Maria Merrifield, wife of the
late Rev. Wm. Merrifield of the
Northern New York Conference, passed
away at her home in this village on
Monday Aug. 19, aged 84 years. The
funeral was held on Thursday, at 1:30
at the house and 2 p.m. at the M. E.
Church, services conducted by her
pastor, the Rev. W. J. Stearns. She
leaves to mourn her loss two children,
W. F. Merrifield of this place and
Mrs. Ella Halstead of McConnellsville,
N.Y., ten grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren. Deceased was a
faithful member of the M.E. Church in
this place for about twenty years.
Burial was made in Lysander Cemetery
by the side of her husband who died
in 1893.
