MRS. EDITH F. ADAMS
Mrs. Edith Mae Fields Adams, 81-year-old resident of Route 1, Crofton, died at 6:40 a.m. today at the Medicenter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie R. Simmons officiating, and burial will follow in Cansler Cemetery off the Dawson Road.
A native of Kentucky, Mrs. Adams was born March 22, 1888, the daughter of the late Allen W. and Isadora Davis Fields. She was a member of the New Palestine Baptist Church.
Her husband, Tommy E. Adams, died in 1968.
Survivors include a son, Herman Adams, and a daughter, Mrs. Elgie Gamble, both of the county; three brothers, Omar Fields, West Terre Haute, Indiana, Charlie Fields, Mortons Gap and Eugene Fields, Chicago Heights, Illinois; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtie Davis, and Miss Willie Fields, both of West Terre Haute, Mrs. P. L. Shaw, Earlington and Mrs. Sallie Mabry, Crofton.
Two grandsons, Dwayne and Galin Gamble, both of the county, and six great-grandchildren also survive.
