Genevieve K. Foisy
Manchester - Genevieve K. (Rzasa) Foisy, 97, of Manchester, died Feb. 26, 2013, at St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born in Manchester on May 10, 1915, the daughter of Thomas and Victoria (Sitnik) Rzasa.
She attended local schools and worked in the shoe industry most of her life, retiring from Dorson-Fleisher Shoe Company in Manchester.
A devout Catholic, Genevieve was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church until its closure. Most recently, she had been a parishoner of St. Pius X Church.
The family would like to thank the wounderful staff of St. Teresa for the outstanding care, compassion, and love they offered Ginny during her 7 1/2 years of residence with them.
Genevieve was predeceased by her husband Leo L. Foisy in 1986, her siblings Mary Volkmann, Stella Mullen, Louis Rzasa, Wwho was killed in World War II, and Joseph Rzasa.
Family members include many nephews and nieces.
Services: a calling hour at Lambert Funeral Home & Creamatory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 519 Bridge St., Manchester, 03104.
