Edwin F. (Pete) Frelich, age 86, of 1615 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning, April 13, 2007, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

He was born Oct. 30, 1920, in the town of Cooperstown, Manitowoc County, son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Wanek) Frelich. Edwin was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II from 1942 to 1945 with a tour in Africa and Italy. On June 28, 1952, he married the former Hildegarde Meyer at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Edwin was an auto mechanic for Hamachek Garage in Manitowoc for many years and then was employed with Manitowoc Engineering, retiring in 1982. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a current member of St. Francis of Assisi.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Bernard, Victor, Joseph and Louis Frelich; one sister: Marcella Yohanek; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. John Schuetze with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
