Bill was born in 1918 in Chicago to William Knox Cooper and Martha Katharine Nicolai. He joined the US Army Air Corps in 1940, stationed at Ft. George Wright in Spokane, WA, and served overseas in Belgium, England and France. He was honorably discharged in 1945 at the rank of Sergeant. He married Marian Martha Stroebel on January 1, 1942, in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Bill was the father of five children. He was employed as a furniture refinisher and owned a radio/TV repair shop. Bill died in January 1998. He enjoyed photography, lapidary, automobiles, music of all kinds from Segovia to Elvis to Bachman Turner Overdrive, and of course he cherished his beloved pets. He especially enjoyed pancakes, and frequently ordered two helpings at restaurants. He had a deliciously quirky sense of humor. I miss him very much.
