RUTH "RUTHIE" GLANDT

Ruth "Ruthie" Glandt, age 75, of Two Rivers, died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, early Sunday afternoon, March 22, 1998, at Two Rivers Community Hospital Two Rivers.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, and 10 am, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Larry Seidi with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

Ruthie was born February 2, 1923, daughter of the late William and Tressie Gauthier Henfer. She grew up in Two Rivers, Manitowoc County, attending St. Luke Grade School, and was a graduate of the Two Rivers High School with the class of 1941. She was married to Frederic P. "Fritz" Glandt on May 10, 1943, in Two Rivers. Ruthie was a lifetime member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Ladies of St. Luke, the American Legion Auxiliaxy Robert E. Burns Post, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #1248, the Rogers Street Fishing Village, Two Rivers Historical Society, the Washington House Museum, all of Two Rivers, the American Canadian Genealogical Society and the Boy Scouts of America. Ruthie was the first Snow Queen in the City of Two Rivers in 1937. Her favorite full time interest was the history of Two Rivers and the tracing of her family genealogy, the Gauthier-LaFond families, for which she created over 60 volumes that date back to the 1500's. She loved Point Beach State Forest and the Neshotah Park and Beach areas. Ruthie spent countless hours
introducing her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to the beauty of the Lakeshore. Ruthie worked for the Two Rivers Doctors Clinic Ltd. for many years. She was a truly loyal and caring friend who was always available to lend a smile, an understanding ear, and assistance to family and friends. Freely giving of herself was Ruth's hallmark. Her endless generousity, compassion and beautiful smile will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Tressie (Gauthier) Henfer; and her husband, Fritz Glandt on December 13, 1987.

Friends may call at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. led by Deacon Ken Coenen.

A memorial has been established for Ruth's Genealogical Collection for the purpose of making it available to the public.
