Audrey A. Bergan was born on December 11, 1924, the daughter of Andrew and Anna Odegaard in Malung, Minnesota. She received her education in the rural school in Malung and also at Roseau High School.

On March 8th, 1944 she and Richard C. Bergan were married. Richard passed away in September 1997.

Audrey was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and attending group Bible studies. She was a volunteer in many community organizations where she held offices in the Women's Bible Study and the Roseau Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society for many years. She especially enjoyed singing at Sheltering Oaks on Thursday mornings. Audrey was an honorary lifetime member of the Four Seasons Garden Club.

Audrey is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann [Dwight] Thompson of Grand Forks, North Dakota and two sons, Allan [Cindy Townsend] of Palm Springs, California and Paul [Aileen] of Winnipeg, Manitoba; four grandsons, Aaron (Alita)Bergan, Steven Thompson, Kelly Bergan, Samuel Thompson; one great-grandchild, Lilah Marie Bergan; two sisters, Lois [Ardell] Markstrom and Sharon Fugleberg; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Odegaard, Helen Bergen, Dorothy Bergan, and Joyce Kaplan; brothers-in-law, James Bergan, and George Longmire. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and her many dear friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Bergan, her brothers Walter and Dennis Odegaard, her sisters-in-law, Lena Sandstrom, Ann Bergan, Fern Burnett, and Gloria Longmire; and her brothers-in-law, Don Fugleberg, Curtis Bergan, and Bruce Bergen. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Audrey Bergan passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota, at the age of 82 years and 6 days. May Audrey's memory be blessed.

Funeral Services for Audrey Bergan of Roseau will be held on Friday, December 22, at 1:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau is handling the arrangements.
