Mrs. Joseph (Theresa E.) Gehrig, 99, of 111 N. 12th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday, April 25, 1989 at Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Saturday at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and 10 am at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Leo J. Schmitt will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Gehrig was born August 19, 1898 at Kossuth, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Seibert Neuser. She married Joseph P. Gehrig October 12, 1928 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake. Mrs. Gehrig was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Christian Women of Holy Innocents and Catholic Women’s Club. For many years she did volunteer work as a Nurses’ Aide for both Memorial Hospital and Holy Family Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; three children, James (Sue) Gehrig of Alexandria, Virginia, Lorraine (Roy) Fricke of Manitowoc and Dr. Robert (Jean) Gehrig of Troy, New York; a sister, Arlene (Leonard) Curra of Norwell, Massachusetts; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm Friday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 pm led by Deacon Donald Gigure.
