Nicole B. Cianci 38, Nicole is the beloved daughter of former Providence Mayor Vincent A. Cianci , Jr. and Sheila Bentley McKenna, and the loving wife of Joseph Amar of Providence.

Nicole 's greatest joy was in being the proud and devoted mother of her three beautiful children, Olivia, Joseph and Julius. They were the lights of her life, and her eternal love for them conquers and transcends all boundaries of life and death.

Born in Providence on January 9, 1974, Nicole was the granddaughter of the late Esther (Capobianco) and Dr. Vincent A. Cianci and the late Dr. D. Gilbert and Loretta (McKeown) Bentley. She leaves three half-brothers, Michael Gorriaran, Portland, OR, and Steven and Daniel Gorriaran of Providence. She was the cherished niece of Carol ( Cianci ) and Dr. John Turchetta of East Greenwich. Nicole attended the Wheeler and Lincoln Schools in Providence and graduated from School One, also in Providence, in 1992. Nicole had an amazing affinity for the elderly and those in need, and was a passionate and untiring advocate on their behalf. She was employed by the Nickerson Community Center and the Providence Community Action Program (ProCAP). She volunteered for many organizations, including the George Wiley Center in Pawtucket. Nicole was a proud member of the Providence 12th Ward Democratic Committee. Compassionate, kind, caring, spirited and giving, and a lover of animals, Nicole Cianci leaves a lasting, positive influence on the many lives she touched during her all too brief 38 years. She is, and will continue to be, greatly missed by her family and many friends, and all those whom she inspired.

A celebration of her life was held on Tuesday, April 24th, at Grace Episcopal Church, of which she was a member, Providence. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nicole 's memory may be made to the Asthma and Allergy Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital, C/O Development Office, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903. Visit www.nardolillo.com for information and online condolences.
