Vickie Jean (Lynam) Davenport-Williams, 61, of Hartshorne, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her home. Born Oct. 20, 1951, in Texarkana, Texas, she was the daughter of Curtis and Patsy Jean (Goatcher) Lynam. She grew up in Bache and was raised by her grandparents, Bill and Nina Goatcher, who owned the old Bache store. All through her childhood, she helped out in the store, until she completed her education, earning a bachelor's degree in business and communication. She owned and operated a flower shop in Seiling and an answering service in Fairview. She was an executive director of the Chamber of Commerce at Fairview, Del City, El Reno, Durant and Kennett, Mo. She was an excellent event planner and was instrumental in helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profit and charitable organizations. In 1995 she settled in Hartshorne and operated the Republic Insurance Agency for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, traveling and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She married James Robert Williams on May 24, 1991. Survivors include her husband, Jim Williams, of the home; one daughter, Amber Sutton and Donnie Sutton, of Hartshorne; one son, Judd Davenport, of McAlester. Also, two grandchildren, Madison Phillips and Tanner Don Sutton; a cousin, Debbie Mayo-Jackson; special friend, Vivian Scott, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Patsy Lynam; her grandparents, Bill and Nina Goatcher, and an aunt, JoAnne Mayo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Steve Mass officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Pallbearers will be Eddie Mayo, Bill Mayo, Donnie Sutton, Ron Scott, Danny Mass and Mike Mass. Honorary pallbearers will be Judd Davenport, Vernon Davenport, Dale Davenport, Steve Mass, David Mass and Skip Evans.
